My research
My research covers a wide-range of topics in observational astrophysics, with a general underlying theme: the characterisation of CMB foregrounds. I'm involved in several world-leading CMB experiments (Planck, QUIET, QUIJOTE) and dedicated foreground surveys (CBASS, KuBE, COFE, QUIJOTE). I'm also interested in the new field of HI intensity mapping to understand the evolution of the Universe, including dark energy.
My list of research topics include:-- CMB experiments - construction, calibration, data analysis.
- Radio interferometry.
- Interstellar medium.
- Radiation mechanisms in the radio through to the far infrared
- Synchrotron emission.
- Free-free emission
- Spinning dust emission.
- Thermal dust emission.
- Component separation.
- Large area radio surveys.
- Wide-field optical surveys (e.g. H-alpha).
- HII regions.
- HI intensity mapping
