Options for Study
As part of the School of Physics and Astronomy at The University of Manchester there are a number of ways to study astronomy at different levels:
- Postgraduate courses are available at JBCA at MSc and PhD levels, providing a training in the methods of research together with the opportunity to participate in front-line research. We offer an MSc course in Astrophysics, and a PhD in Astrophysics in one of our research areas, including astronomical technology.
- The School of Physics and Astronomy offer a range of undergraduate courses, including Physics with Astrophysics.
- Jodrell Bank Centre for Astrophysics offer a limited number of placements to school students seeking work experience.
** Applications for PhD positions, including those for STFC studentships, are accepted and considered at all times.
For STFC studentships, please apply as soon as possible. Interviews for these awards will be conducted in late January / early February 2014, but outstanding applicants may be offered places before this. To be considered fully therefore, you need to have applied by mid-January at the latest.
