Our research covers a wide range of modern astrophysics. We have particular expertise in radio-mm observational astronomy but we also make observations at a wide range of other wavelengths and combine these with theory and modelling.

CMB Cosmology
The cosmic microwave background, large-scale structure, cosmological simulations and theories of the early universe.
Cluster simulation Galaxies & Clusters
Including gravitational lensing studies of galaxies, black holes and dark matter, and studies of active galaxies, quasars and starbursts.
RS Oph Galactic Astrophysics
Star formation and evolution, galactic structure, astrochemistry and interstellar dust.
Double pulsar Pulsar Astrophysics
Searching for new pulsars, studying extreme physics, theories of gravity and the dynamic radio sky.
Transit of Venus across the Sun in 2004 Sun & Planets
Plasma and magnetic fields in the outer atmosphere of the Sun and the search for new planets orbiting other stars.
OCRA-f Technology
Including large-format imaging & interferometric arrays, low-noise amplifiers and optical fibre data transfer.
