Current Maser Research

The work of the Jodrell Bank maser group is diverse and tackles a number of astrophysical problems ranging from individual star birth and death to galactic patterns of star-formation. Current research areas include:
- Masers as signposts of stellar evolution
- Magnetic fields in star-forming regions
- Magnetic fields in circumstellar envelopes
- Methanol masers and star-formation in the Milky Way
- Masers in external galaxies, starburst galaxies and active galactic
nuclei
- Physics of cosmic masers
- Developments of techniques in spectral line VLBI data reduction and visualization
