The LeMMINGs' Sample

The LeMMINGs project consist of observations of two complimentary samples of nearby galaxies which will be observed at different sensitivities.

The statistical sample consists of 280 galaxies comprising the entire Palomar spectroscopic Bright galaxy sample north of declination +20 degrees. This large sample will be completely observed in L and C-band to an estimated rms of 38 and 15 microJy/beam respectively.

The deep sample comprises a small number (6) selected nearby galaxies that will be observed in both L and C-band to a sensitivity ~5 times lower than that achieved in the shallow survey. This deep tier will have an rms imaging sensitivity of 8 and 3 microJy/beam at L and C-band respectively.
