3C 244.1 lies in a rich cluster
(Hill & Lilly 1991).
The structure is about as simple and symmetrical as classical doubles get,
but at higher resolution
(Fernini et al. 1997,
Neff et al. 1995) the southern hotspot
is triple, with a faint but extremely compact hotspot (or jet knot) set a
few arcsec behind the southern hotspot (which itself is double).
The optical position is marked by a red cross. It co-incides within
the errors with a weak radio core detected in high-frequency maps.
