NGC4449

Description: Does NGC4449 have acne? Those clumps of stars are actually new-born open star clusters and star-forming regions: the central bar of clusters has been dated to around 5 million years old - very young by stellar standards. NGC4449 is an irregular dwarf galaxy, and is a member of the Canes Venaticorum group, playing a similar role to the Large Magellanic Cloud in our galactic group.
