NGC772

Description: NGC772 is a spiral galaxy with some bright HII regions, which come out in this image as knots in the spiral arm beneath the galactic centre. The image was taken under very poor seeing and some occasional cloud, so is probably not the best we can produce.

Image information: Stacked, dark-subtracted, registered combination of 30 x 15s V-band images. The image has undergone a deconvolution filter to enhance clarity and a 2x2 binning to reduce noise. Image taken 14/01/2006 20:00.

Physical information: Magnitude: 11.1, size: 7.5'x4.3', s.b.: 13.6 mag/sq'.
