About me
Hello, my name is Evan Keane and I am a postdoctoral researcher in the Fundamental Physics in Radio Astronomy group at the Max Planck Institut fuer Radioastronomie in Bonn. I completed my PhD at the Jodrell Bank Centre for Astrophysics (JBCA) (Sep. 2007 - Sep. 2010, viva: Oct. 2010), before working as a postdoc briefly (until Feb. 2011) and hence the existence of this (very likely to be out of date) webpage. You may find more up to date information on my webpage at MPIfR.My research involves the study of neutron stars. This has included studying the birthrates of Galactic neutron stars, some RFI excision, timing, studying glitches and searching for RRATs. Below you can find some links to my papers, talks and posters if you want to know more! These lists are updated in an erratic fashion so may not be very up to date. If you want to look at some pretty pictures of the Galaxy you live in check out Chromoscope. If you want to listen to the best astronomy podcast in the world you need to download the Jodcast.
My PhD research was kindly supported by the EU Framework 6 Marie Curie Early Stage Training programme under contract number MEST-CT-2005-19669 "ESTRELA"
In my spare time I have been known to play a bit of basketball and soccer. Please check out the Jodrell Bank Basketball Club Webpage
