MERLIN as a prototype  SKA?
The SKA has been proposed to have a collecting area of ~ 10⁶ square meters,which is ~2 orders of magnitude larger than MERLIN
However many of the other  SKA parameters such as frequency range , angular resolution, and baseline lengths are similar to the present MERLIN. Hence  many of the methods & techniques used for MERLIN are likely to  be of relevance for SKA.
