The C-Band All Sky Survey (C-BASS) is a project to map the whole sky at a frequency of 5 GHz in both temperature and polarization, with the aim of allowing the accurate subtraction of synchrotron polarization from maps of the CMB. It is a joint project between the University of Manchester, the University of Oxford, the Rutherton Appleton Laboratory, the Owens Valley Radio Observatory, Rhodes University and the Hartebeesthoek Radio Astronomy Observatory. Observations will be made from the Hartebeesthoek Radio Astronomy Observatory in the South and from the Owens Valley Radio Observatory in the North. The full-sky maps will be made available to the astronomical community and will be a useful too for studying the synchrotron radiation from our Galaxy and the Galactic magnetic field.

For more information, see the official C-BASS website.
