Double Pulsar

Discovered by Jodrell Bank astronomers in 2003, the "Double Pulsar" is the most stringent test of Einstein's theory of gravity, General Relativity. This artist's impression (the stars are far too small and close together to image directly) shows the two neutron stars, ultra-dense remnants of exploded stars, circling one another, appearing as two "cosmic lighthouses" to our radio telescopes.
