M82
M82, a starburst galaxy experiencing a high rate of star formation. Radio images reveal many of these massive stars exploding at the end of their lives. This is a radio image made recently with the UK's MERLIN network of telescopes operated from Jodrell Bank combined with the Very Large Array in the USA.
