Two views of Mars: Valles Marineris
(left) Schiaperelli crater (right)

On the left is a view of Mars centered on Valles Marineris, a huge canyon that could stretch across the entire United States. It is in the eastern part of the Tharsis Bulge region that also has several very large volcanoes (three are visible on the left side). On the right is a view of older, more heavily-cratered terrain centered on Schiaperelli Crater.
